Sketch Game

Are you ready for another sketch challenge? Here are some of the photo sizes and placement for some of the sketches. I am showing you where on the page the photo goes to give you a better idea of what to print. The layouts will be more detailed, showing you where to put embellishments, paper, etc when you get the actual sketch, this just shows you the general size and direction of the photo. A sketch is a guide to a layout. It shows you where to put photos, paper, embellishments, etc.

For those of you who haven't played before this is how it works.

1) you will get a variety of sketches to complete within a certain time frame.
Friday - 4pm - 10:30pm
Saturday 9am - 4:00pm

2) For every sketch you complete you will receive one entry into a prize draw. We will draw some prizes on Friday night and some on Saturday.

3) Also, the person who finished the most sketches for the weekend wins a prize.

4) You must follow the sketch fairly closely. This means that photo sizes should be similar (don't have to be exact). Number of photos on page same as sketch (you can take two small photos and make it into one big one or vice versa). If it has an embellishment in a spot you also need to put one there, etc. Basically I have to be able to tell that you were following the sketch given.

I will be booking a crop date for January 2010 at then end of November. Once I have the hall booked I will start registration. Stay tuned! I will send out a newsletter once I have the date finalized. Hope to see you all there.

March 2009 Sketch Game Photo Sizes

I am going to run the sketch game a bit differently this time around. You will get these four sketches (photo sizes below) plus you will get some other sketches but the photo sizes won't be released before hand. There will be a variety to chose from, you won't have to do them all. You will be given four hours to complete a group of sketches. If it isn't making sense don't panic. I will have all the details at the crop. If you come prepared with photos in these sizes you will be able to play the game. Here are the photo sizes for the 4 sketches:

SKETCH GAME

Below you will find the sizes and a diagram of the photos for the sketch game. Two posts down you can find it all printed out. I just made these diagrams for those who need a visual. Please note that this is just to show the size/direction of the photo. Each daigram has the # of photos of that size that you will need in the photo size box. I hope that all makes sense!

Make-n-Take

Please note that you must pre-sign up for the make-n-take by Friday, January 23.

The Make-n-take will be run by Prairie Scrapbooking.

It will be a 3x3 post it note and pen holder(with a package of post it notes inside, plus a pen to go with it). This project is perfect for popping into your purse, or keep it handy next time you are browsing thru a magazine to bookmark the pages with layouts you want to copy. The front of the project has a stamped butterfly image, and co-ordinating patterned paper.

The make-n-take is free but you must sign-up ahead of time. Please email me at info@themecrops.com to sign-up. Deadline is Friday, January 23, 2009.

Sketch Game

What is the sketch game? Every crop I chose 6-8 sketches and release them every couple of hours. Your task is to complete the sketch in the time alloted. For each page you create based on the sketch you will get a ticket for the sketch prize draw. You are welcome to do more then one layout based on the sketch for more then one ticket, as long as each layout it is completed in the time frame.

A completed sketch must contain the following:

A Title
Journaling (if you are going to do this on the computer at home you at least have to have it written out on a piece of paper)

What is a sketch? A sketch is a drawing that lays out the shell of your layout, where you photos, title, embellishment, paper, etc should be placed. You can deviate slightly from the sketch but it must be recognizable and fairly close.
